Hampi Located on the banks of the Tungabhadra
River, in Karnataka, Hampi is the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, a
Hindu Dynastry who ruled south India from 14th to 16th
century. Covering an area of over 25 square km, the Hampi ruins, its current
fame, is stuffed with mammoth temples, market streets, palaces, and historic
structures.
