The history of Srishailam begins with Stavahanas, who were
the first empire builders in South India. The presiding diety is Lord
Mallikarjuna. The shrine is situated on a flat top of Nallamala hills. It is
considered to be one of the most ancient kshetras in India. It is on the right
side of the Krishna. The presiding deity, Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy is one of the
18 Mahashaktis. The unique feature of this Kshetra is the combination of
Jyothirlingas and Mahashakthis in one campus which is very rare and one of its
kind. The Mahalingam is campus which is very rare and one of its kind. The
Mahalingam is accessible to each and every devotee.
