Goddess Kanak Durga temple is most popular in Vijayawada .
It is located on a hill – Indrakeeladri overlooking the city as well as the
River Krishna. Very famous. Indrakiladri is a famous hill mentioned in the
Mahabharata where the Pandava hero Arjuna obtained from Lord Siva an important
weapon called Pasupatastra.
Annavaram : According to the Puranas, the presiding deity of
this place, Lord Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy blesses the devotees with
Anina Varam (Wanted Boon) and the place is called Annavaram.
